1. How much does ClassMon cost?
ClassMon prices range from $275 for a single license up to $1100 for a full site license. This is a one-off cost so there is no annual fee.
There is a free trial version available and we often run some very good promotions.
We also offer special pricing for Institutions or Cluster groups (more than one school)
ClassMon can be
licensed to a School\Centre or to a person.

or order online here.

2. Do we need a server to run ClassMon? Is it web-based?
No & No.
ClassMon
is a small software application that runs on any PC. All data is held
on the PC.
No server or Internet
connection is required.
3. Is there a Mac version
Sorry, not yet - BUT, if we get enough interest from Mac users (I am
one too!) then we will release a Mac version so please stay in touch!
In the meantime we suggest you try to have a play with ClassMon on a PC
then tell us how much you like it and want it on a Mac. We expect
development will take about 8 weeks, but we need to know there is a
market for it first.
4. Is it possible to use ClassMon to produce a school report?
Yes, we have some schools who are actually using ClassMon to create
school reports for other year levels than Prep. This is why we added
the front page that shows the student photo, days absent, Principal
& Teacher signature etc. This cover page can be switched on &
off in the ClassMon settings so you can produce both simple Learning
Records and School Reports.
5.
Can we use ClassMon in other year levels than Prep?
YES - You can use ClassMon for ANY curriculum in any Year Level. The
Prep, EYLF and QLD Kindergarten rubrics that come with ClassMon are just examples - we basically
copied the framework in and adjusted the comments for gender and
for auto student name insertion.
You can do this with any framework you wish. You can also export and
import rubrics so you can easily share and collaborate.
If you would like to see examples from Years 1,2,3 then let us know and
we will show you. We also have a fantastic rubric example from
Foundations for Families (Birth to 3yrs).
If you need any help developing, editing or sharing rubrics then please
contact us - we will help you get ClassMon ready for YOUR school or Centre.
Visit the
Rubric page on our site to download some samples.
6. Will this be compatible with a new curriculum? (eg. National
curriculum)
ClassMon is very flexible. Because it uses rubrics that can easily be
exported/imported it means that it can be used with any curriculum.
7. Can I get help to get up and running with ClassMon?Yes – definitely.
Firstly we suggest that
you download the quickstart guide.
Then watch the ClassMon
tutorial videos that are available on YouTube.
You will find all the
links here.
We also run workshops
quite regularly at various schools and Universities.
If your school would
like some personal PD then we charge $275 for 1.5hrs for up to 10
people.
8. Do I need to manually type all my students details in?
9. We have tried to use a product from another company but it did
not work for us, it was quite complicated and had issues with logins
etc. Will ClassMon be any different?
We hope so! We have seen some of the other products available - from
modified Powerpoint templates to more complex network based systems.
Our number one priority is relevancy, our second priority is
simplicity. The
feedback we have received from our users is that
ClassMon automates all of the tasks that used to be so time-consuming
and that it is very easy to use.
ClassMon is a simple piece of "personal" software, it is not web-based
- everything is kept on YOUR computer so it is easy to set up and you
will never have login or access issues.
10. Is it compatible with MOE?
Yes, there are no compatibility issues with MOE
11. Do I need a fancy computer?
No, as long as you are using a PC that is running XP, Vista or Windows 7 you will be fine.
12. What can I do to control the size of the database?Tip #1 - create a
unique login for each reporting cycle. This will create a separate
database file for each login.
For example, if my name
is “Dave” and I report in Semester 1 and Semester 2, then I would
create a login name called “DaveS1” and use this for Semester 1.
At the end of the Semester I would then create a new login (“Add
Teacher”) called “DaveS2” and start fresh.
If I need to look
back at Semester 1 data I simply logout and then log back in as
DaveS1.
Please note that if you use ClassMon this way then you cannot creat reports or folios that uses data from both Semesters.
Tip #2 - We recommend
that you use JPG images as these files are automatically compressed
when added to ClassMon.
Tip #3 - Be careful
when adding video files, we recommend that you reduce the size of
video files before adding them to ClassMon. There are free video
converter\compression tools available on the web. Check the “Cool
Tools for Schools” page on our site.
